That's cutting it a bit fine, isn't it....?

Woah! Japan are getting a good deal there. It's a pretty ambitious plan to launch all round the world within a couple of weeks, but if Microsoft pull it off all credit to them. And No doubt a worldwide release will give them some ridiculous sales statistics to throw in the competitions face.

Hmm. MS seems to be "favoring" Japan to get a userbase there... their hard-drive bundle costs less than our hard-drive-less bundle! Grrr....
But good job on the almost-simultaneous worldwide launch.

i think its unfair as people in europe allways get charged more for there consoles than the rest of the world!!

Hmm thats is very close to Xmas and well i hope we have more or better games than the japanise launch titles, there's only two there I'd buy... actually two is ok just wish we knew if Perfect Dark Zero will be there.
Ridge Racer 6 and Ghost Recon 3 are hardly killer apps! (could be tho... maybe, but niether exclusive to the title not soo good) but hey we have the dates now, so can we find out what we all really want to know! What games can we buy with it, thats why were all buying it is'nt it?!

its nice to finally know the release date & because its at the start of December could mean sales go through the roof plus those who get paid at the start of the month (i.e me :) )will have more money to get more launch games etc.
I just hope there aren't stock shortages & we get PDZ before xmas...

If you think the international pricing policy is unfair and the UK price is too high you can always not buy the product.

WTF!
That's sickening. The Japanese Standard 360 is cheaper than our Core 360 - by £20 at that!
I'm seriously going to write to trading standards or something... There should be a law that you have to charge the same in every country.... Before tax, obviously.
Forget this 360 business, then. There's nothing ground-breaking at launch anyway... I'll just play Black and White II... at least I would, if my PS was good enough. :|
..... £190 for the £279 pack.... that's just wrong. I sincerely hope that's a typo or false information.

I was actually thinking of getting one, but not now that the UK price is as ridiculously high, as usual...

I think we are getting a real good deal considering the launch price and what we get...
but seeing the Japanese release price makes me angry.
We (Europe) are being screwed over yet again. Its a joke and considering we are a bigger games buying market than Japan it really is extremely unreasonable of Microsoft such a joke. Major Piss take!
But I guess I must pay that price or wait for the sub £400 PS3 which will probably break on me anyway, if the PS2 is anything to go by!

Well, here we go again, region lock out, so if any quiky jap games come out or some awesome jap shooters, we can`t play em, again. They had a big chance to open the market right up, but didn`t take it. Those games from the tokyo show look crap, is it me, or is it all so underwhelming ? How many of those racing games and rpg`s suffer from jaggies ? I know there`s a few months to go to smooth things out, but it`s not a very long time really is it ? Very disappointed, MS needed to really impress to try and get a decent share in Japan from Sony, this was just poor.

The price differences do seem a little off!
I guess the Japanese price is low because they're willing to make a loss in order to try and reverse the situation there.
If you ignore the Japanese price point, then going by past launches, £280 is a good deal. If you're really bothered, I guess you can always import it...

I think the thing to remember with the price is that we have different tax laws but also that Microsoft's agressive pricing is designed to make the machine appealing to Japanese users. I doubt it will make that much difference, given that the recent PS3 shots of MGS4 and DMC4 for PS3 (while probably mock-ups) are hugely exciting, but it's a damn good move.
But I do kind of resent having to play almost the same amount for the 360 as I did for my original Xbox. All I'm really getting is a bigger hard drive that not all games are designed to use, a remote and a headset.

1. When is it going to be released in Australia? I haven't heard about our territory yet, so do I take it we will be receiving our consoles next year? Not good enough. We are apart of "the world" too you know!
2. Sounds overly expensive for whats in the box.
3. Theres only maybe PGR3 that will be out at/near launch that looks even remotely interesting.
4. Boring... this will be the FIRST console or portable launch I have passed over since 1985 - great work Robbie!
:( Now if I don't see some concrete and amazing Revolution details in the next two days I will skip this whole next generation and buy a house instead :(

!!!Just in: David Maclean (Xbox Australia+New Zealand Boss)has gone on the record to say we (Australia/New Zealand)will not see the Xbox 360 until "early '06".
Now I'm definately giving the 360 a miss.
How hard would it have been to send a few thousand units down under to include us in your so called "world wide launch"? Pah!
Posted by: PAULinOZ at September 15, 2005 5:32 PM
Everybody should give 360 a miss.
Posted by: Murray at September 16, 2005 9:56 PM
i know its been said before but I still think the 360 seems like a desperate effort to gain market share. Judging by the games also, it seems wholly underwhelming and i think the Japenese (despite the aggresive pricing) will wait for PS3
